Maruti Venkatesh Kurdekar has for a long time been working as a senior professor
in tabla in the faculty of Indian music and dance of Kala Academy in Goa.
He studied both tabla and pakawaj for 17 years under the guidance of renowned
Guru Pandit Taranath Rao, Faroukhabad gharana. Maruti is known as an accomplished
solo performer, he is also an approved artist of Doordarshan and AIR (national
Indian television and radio).
Maruti Kurdekar has for the last 30 years been devoted to guide tablastudents,
and he is a very well known teacher and pedagogue. He has toured Europe and Scandinavia
on several occations and conducted lecture demonstrations and workshops at academies
and schools abroad.
